The "Race, Equity, and Action" program series at Penn State Mont Alto has helped to open doors of communication about difficult subjects such as how skin color can affect the way people are treated.
The Penn State Mont Alto, Harrisburg and York LaunchBoxes recently announced the three winning startups of their regional Idea TestLab pitch competition. The competition concludes a five-week-long virtual business idea accelerator that helped eight selected startups through coaching and training on identifying business models and customer discovery.
Bhante Sujatha has visited Penn State Mont Alto every year since 2010 -- including virtually in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic -- to talk with campus and local community members about daily life and meditation. Sujatha will meet with students and community members during his visit.
The sixth annual Mont Alto LaunchBox LION Tank pitch competition will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 6. Interested entrepreneurs can apply to participate through March 13.
Nicholas Jones, director and senior adviser of race and ethnic research and outreach in the bureau’s population division, will speak via Zoom from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. Feb. 2, to audiences in the General Studies Auditorium at Penn State Mont Alto and online.
Spanish for the Medical Professional and Spanish in the Workplace, as well as supply chain management and project management, are among the spring 2022 offerings.
